Third-party certification with NBS Source

15 May 2020 | By NBS

Over recent years, one of the most popular requests for improvements from construction professionals who use NBS has been the request for prominent evidence of third-party certifications regarding construction manufacturer products.

This requirement has recently been reinforced by the recommendations made in Dame Judith Hackitt’s report ‘Building a Safer Future’.

Within NBS Source, therefore, we will be working with manufacturers to structure this information better, and also to give it more prominence. Figure 1 below shows that the LPCB certificate for the product in the example can be clearly identified at the top of the page. This gives the specifier additional confidence that the technical performance of the product has been certified by a third party.

Prominent links to third-party certification.

It’s also possible to search by third-party certification and, by using the product comparison feature, to see which products have third-party certification and which don’t.

Specifiers could therefore search for timber products with FSC certification, or plumbing products with WRAS certification, for example. Equally, users will be able to compare insulation products from different manufacturers, and the product(s) with third-party certification will be easily identifiable.
