How Intelligent Membranes engages with specifiers throughout the project timeline

We caught up with Adam White, CEO and Founder of Intelligent Membranes, to find out how the manufacturer is working more closely with specifiers through NBS Source and the RIBA CPD Providers Network.

Intelligent Membranes is a global manufacturer of eco-liquid applied membranes. The business’ product range includes airtight membranes, waterproof membranes, airtight tapes, window protection and a lot more.

We caught up with Adam White, CEO and Founder of Intelligent Membranes, to find out how the manufacturer has benefited from joining NBS Source and the RIBA CPD Providers Network.

“We’re most famous product for our Passive Purple, which is a Passivhaus certified airtight fluid applied vapour control which can guarantee 0.6 ach or lower on any building,” Adam explained.

Intelligent Membranes also launched two new products in the summer of 2023:

Passivhaus Brickseal is a clear external waterproof membrane for masonry new and old builds. It protects U-Values and help to stop damp coming through on projects where building the can not be changed externally. The second product, Poseidon, is a liquid-applied waterproof tanking system for tiled bathrooms, wet rooms and POD enclosers.

“Our products help specifiers and the wider industry as they form a system which future proofs projects and clients from potential replacements costs,” Adam said.

“We joined NBS as believe that it is by far the best specification platform around. Before we started showcasing our products with NBS Source, we tried to reach specifiers the hard way – through cold calling.

“Using Source has improved our specification process considerably, as we are now able to reach specifiers when they are looking for the ideal products for their projects. We’re able to host our product data, third-party certification and case studies all in one place, making it easier than ever for specifiers to find out everything they need to know about our product range.”

Intelligent Membranes is also a member of the RIBA CPD Providers Network, which gives construction product manufacturers and suppliers the unique opportunity to directly engage with architects and other specifiers by delivering RIBA-accredited CPD content.

Each Chartered Member of the RIBA has to achieve 35 hours’ worth of CPD per year, which means RIBA CPD Providers are perfectly positioned to educate specifiers who are keen to learn about the latest products and systems on the market.

Providers can offer their CPD in a variety of formats such as seminars, articles, factory tours, videos and even podcasts, there’s also a range of RIBA CPD Events where Providers can exclusively present their CPD to RIBA members.
