We caught up with Danielle Redgate, Marketing Manager from Inspired Surfaces Ltd, to talk about how the manufacturer uses NBS Source and NBS Chorus to engage directly with architects and help them to specify sustainable interior solutions from their product range.
Inspired Surfaces Ltd is a supplier of specification-led interior products with a focus on sustainability as a core part of its ethos. We caught up with Marketing Manager Danielle Redgate to find out more about the manufacturer's products and how it has benefitted from working with NBS. Here's what Danielle had to say...
As a business, we are passionate about driving down our carbon footprint and encouraging others to invest in more sustainable measures. As part of this drive, we want to help specifiers continue the carbon-neutral journey on receipt of our products. Now is the time where greater emphasis is placed on all stakeholders throughout the supply chain to make more sustainable choices in material selection.
SanFoot® Real Wood Veneer is a fire retardant 5-ply veneer that can be fitted direct to drywall or to various composites in a range of configurations from curved walls to 90-degree corners, etc. It offers endless design possibilities with over 100 real wood species and 5,000 custom stain options, including a colour matching service. This sustainable wood solution has eco-friendly credentials thanks to a slicing technology that maximises yields by approximately 300%. From an environmental perspective, the same volume of wood veneer that once came from three trees now only requires one.
BioCarbon Laminates are the first carbon neutral laminates, available in High Pressure Laminate (HPL), Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) and Liscio(smooth and matt finish), to be supplied within the UK. The laminates provide a positive choice for the environment by delivering carbon neutral credentials to high quality, cost effective, and durable decorative materials. The range has received third party recognition of environmental performance through a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) from cradle-to-grave.
Whilst the material is in our care, we can ensure that carbon neutrality of the panels is achieved cradle-to-gate through our Carbon Management Programme - but, on receipt of the panels, are members within the project’s supply chain ready to continue the carbon neutral journey? To achieve a fully sustainable supply from gate-to-grave key partners in the supply chain need to be on board and have procedures in place.

Before joining NBS, we relied on architects and designers who had previously worked with our products on projects and understood the unique qualities of the materials.
We knew that it was key to increase awareness of our products beyond our existing architect customers. To reach our target market at the right time of specification, we knew that listing on specification channels was key in order for more specifiers to be familiar with our performance driven products and for them to be featured in more specifications.
NBS Source is a powerful and targeted channel and, for us, provides a platform to increase our profile by being visible on a channel that is directly aimed at our target audience. We are raising awareness of our products and services, making our solutions more accessible at the exact time product decisions are made.
Inspired Surfaces Ltd utilises both NBS Source and NBS Chorus - by listing enhanced data via Source, we're enabling specifiers to inspect detailed product information. We also recently acquired a Chorus license to collaborate with specifiers directly, supporting them when selecting materials and ensuring that the final specification maximises the value of Inspired Surface’s products.
