We’re delighted to welcome Syntec GRC as our first new manufacturer partner to join NBS Source. We caught up with them to find out more about who they are and why they joined NBS.
Syntec GRC, part of the PBS Synergies group, is a manufacturer of bespoke Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) products used in the construction industry. We caught up with Bob Faulding, Director at Syntec GRC to find out a little more about who they are, what they do and why they’ve joined NBS.
Here’s what Bob had to say… At Syntec GRC, we focus on the production of envelope cladding elements to meet project-specific requirements, which utilises the unique ability of this composite to achieve the majority of architectural requirements.
We’re the only UK manufacturer offering GRC cladding which meets the requirements of not only the GRCA Specification, but also European Standard EN1169:1997 and the stringent demands of the American PCI MNL-130-09 system, which is the compliance basis for most projects in the US featuring GRC. We’re also the only UK manufacturer that utilises UKAS accredited laboratories for all required production control testing.
Though the use of GRC has grown massively over the last ten years due to the advantages it offers, specifying the material is a complex subject area. Our Ultra-High-Quality Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (UHQGRC) combines the most rigorous requirements of all available standards into one comprehensive specification.
We hope that through NBS Source, we can bring awareness to the industry of the need for high levels of quality and process control when specifying and using this exciting composite – ultra-high-quality glass fibre-reinforced concrete
In considering how best to share this with architects, alongside the benefits it offers and importantly how to specify our products, we decided the best approach would be with NBS – not only does the platform put our products directly in front of specifiers through NBS Source, but it also enables us to collaborate with architects when they’re specifying a complex product or need guidance. Plus, we are also able to provide technical-based, RIBA-approved CPD, detailing the benefits of this method of GRC manufacturing. NBS will give architects and specifiers exposure to our approach, making more industry professionals aware of its benefits and the high levels of quality control and testing required when manufacturing GRC cladding products.
