We caught up with Oscar Acoustics, who joined NBS over 12 years ago, to find out a little more about its products and why the manufacturer joined NBS.
Oscar Acoustics provides architectural acoustic finishes for buildings across many different sectors and industries, advocating the health and well-being of all those who enter them. We had a catch-up with Ben Hancock, Managing Director at Oscar Acoustics, to find out more about the business, and why it not only joined NBS over 12 years ago but also jumped at the chance to be one of our first customers to enhance its listings on NBS Source.
Here’s what Ben had to say….
At Oscar Acoustics, we have an extensive range of fire-rated, recycled, seamless, acoustic decorative finishes. We enable designers to create beautiful, calm and inviting, modern spaces that sound as good as they look. We have complete acoustic solutions for all sectors, including offices, universities, schools, warehouses and factories, film/ television studios, sports and music arenas, leisure centres, entertainment venues, restaurants and more.
Building a relationship with architects and designers is what led us to reach out to NBS over 12 years ago, and we are thrilled to see our products in the recently launched NBS Source. This provides us with the opportunity to achieve even more exposure to architects and designers for our company and class-leading products, and for our architectural acoustic finishes to get specified.
NBS puts us right in front of our target audience when they’re specifying. The way that NBS has standardised product information in NBS Source makes it easier for specifiers to find our products and create more robust specifications, which potentially means we can hold onto the spec, with less risk of substitution to an inferior product

NBS Source is designed in a way that it asks all the right and critical questions. The manufacturer specification information is submitted in a specific format – which makes it easier for the specifiers to find our products – and it matches set guidelines. The more robust specifications are, there should hopefully be less scope for product substitution with other products that are not up to the same standard. It also enables us to answer more questions for architects, which we feel are very important, with fire and environmental classification embedded into the product data.
For companies who have products with environmental, fire and other noteworthy attributes, NBS Source gives them a chance to stand out from their competitors, and potentially hold onto the spec with less risk of substitution. Overall, NBS is a brilliant platform, allowing us to put our products in front of the audience who we want to target.
