We caught up with Access 360’s Specification Manager, Christian Baker-Smith to find out more about its ceiling, wall and floor access products and why the manufacturer uses both our platforms, NBS Source and NBS Chorus.
Access 360, a division of Tyman, is now live on NBS Source. Its portfolio of three brands Bilco UK, Profab Access and Howe Green, provide roof, ceiling, wall and floor access products to the construction industry. We caught up with Specification Manager, Christian Baker-Smith to find out more about Access 360 and how it uses our platforms NBS Source and NBS Chorus to make the specification process easier for specifiers. Here’s what he had to say.
With over 80 years combined experience in manufacturing and supplying high quality access solutions, Access 360’s products provide safety and functionality - without compromising on aesthetics. Bilco UK’s range of roof access solutions provide safe and secure access that can be adapted to each project’s requirements. Profab Access designs and manufactures riser doors and access panel solutions for ceilings, walls, and partitions and is regularly specified for standout developments across the globe. Howe Green is a UK manufacturer of floor access covers and tree pits, providing innovative, practical and economical solutions for accessing concealed under-floor services.
By joining NBS, our aim is to raise the profile of Access 360’s products and ultimately drive specifications for upcoming projects. NBS platforms will support us at Access 360 in providing professionals with concise information as well as a breadth of technical and product support.
NBS Source is extremely effective in enabling specifiers to quickly and easily access key information regarding Access 360’s entire suite of products, whilst also offering the ability to compare solutions to identify which one successfully meets the project’s requirements. It also stores all key product information and specifications, such as testing certifications, in a single place so specifiers can feel confident a product is compliant with the relevant regulations.
Using NBS Chorus allows us at to collaborate directly with specifiers on project specifications which helps to streamline the process and produce accurate specifications. It also helps that we’ve worked with NBS so each product’s information is already pre-written in specification and BIM object format.
To further help specifiers choose the correct products for their projects, last year we launched our RIBA accredited CPD: ‘Safe Access All Areas’, which is hosted live by Access 360’s team of Specification Managers. The online seminar provides a comprehensive guide on the specification of access solutions for roof, ceiling, wall and floor, and key considerations during the initial design stages. Throughout 2021, we will be extending our CPD offering to further support architects and specifiers.
"Access 360’s partnership with NBS has so far been extremely successful in increasing awareness with specifiers of our key product categories and their benefits. We look forward to working with NBS throughout 2021 to drive specification of our products and achieve closer collaboration with specifiers."
